Lakshmi joined the group at ArcelorMittal Point Lisas in Trinidad & Tobago in September 2004, as legal manager & company secretary. In 2010 she became part of the management committee at Point Lisas, before taking on the role of chief legal and HR officer and corporate secretary in 2012; she was responsible for legal, company secretarial, compliance, human resources, industrial relations, government relations, internal and external communication, security, health care and administrative services.
In September 2016, Lakshmi moved to Luxembourg and she joined the group legal, compliance and company secretary team as senior legal counsel, supporting the optimization of the compliance function throughout the group. During this time, she also provided legal support to the group’s Investment Allocation Committee (IAC). Lakshmi joined ArcelorMittal Downstream Solutions as head of human resources in February 2020.
Lakshmi graduated from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, India and she holds a bachelor’s degree in law. She also has a legal education certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School and is admitted to practice law in Trinidad and Tobago.
